The miniature carpets which Frank M. Cooper has prepared charts for have really captured my attention recently. No sooner had I finished my interpretation of the Berlin Rug, I was ready to start another detailed piece. The picture to the left is Mr. Cooper's rendition of the original design of a Mudjar prayer rug. The original dates to the first part of the 19th century and measures roughly 42 x 60 inches. Mr. Cooper's interpretation is executed in wool on canvas. His final piece measures approximately 9 x 13 inches. Once again, I shall work on a smaller gauge linen with Pearsall's silks. The final dimensions will be 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches.
